How to Get Here
Melbourne is located in southern Victoria, on the northern tip of Port Phillip Bay. The airport is 20km north of the city, with buses running to one of the main city transport hubs regularly.
Roadtrippers can travel between Sydney and Melbourne in approximately 10 hours, and between Adelaide and Melbourne in approximately 8 hours. Interstate bus trips are available, and once in Victoria you can switch to the faster regional train line.
When To Go
Melbourne is one of the colder Australian cities, so those looking for some sun should avoid the winter months (June – August). The shoulder season, with less crowds and cheaper rates, is between March and May and September and November. December to February is peak travel season and also gets very hot, with many locals escaping the city for beachside holidays.
